Please tell us a little about how Hong Seng Assembly Sdn Bhd began?

I'm William and the company has been in business for more than 50 years. My grandfather started repair and selling marine engines in 1965. In 1985 we started truck business by importing reconditioned truck. In 2003 we started rebuild truck and in 2011 we started to sell new China trucks. Our head office is in Butterworth, Penang, and we have branches in Johor, KL, Klang, Kuantan, Sabah, Kuching and more branches will be opened in the future to support our growth. We have more than 17 service centres in Malaysia and plan to open more 3S centres in the future.

What is the biggest challenges you face in your business and how did you overcome it?

One of it is trying to increase our customer's satisfaction level and the other is improving our after-sales services. We constantly listen to feedbacks from our customers and finding new ways to improve their experience in dealing with us. We believe in solving our customers' problems and this is also a way that our customers are happy with our services.

What type of trucks do you sell in your company?

Our inventory covers the whole range of trucks, we have light duty, medium duty and heavy duty trucks. We currently have more than 300 trucks for sale and of various body types, for example, #WoodenCargo, #BoxTruck, #Tipper, #FoodTruck & #van in our company. For the new Chinese trucks business, we carry 14 different commercial vehicle brands under our umbrella, ranging from pick-ups, light trucks, mining trucks to prime movers. This allows the company to provide a full range of products that meets the various demands from different industries.

What brands of truck do you sell in your company?

We sell trucks from most, if not all, brands. The popular brands are #Hino, #Isuzu, #MitsubishiFuso, #UDTrucks, #Daihatsu, #Nissan, #Toyota, #Scania, #VolvoTrucks, #MercedesBenz, #MAN, #Renault, #Shacman, #XCMG, #Hohan, and #JBC.

Are you currently offering any promotion in your company for your customers?

Yes, we are. We are currently offering tender and stock clearance sales for our customers.

What other services do you offer beside selling trucks?

We also offer #insurance services, assistance in dealing with the authorities, e.g. #JPJ, #Puspakom, #APAD services, supplying #parts, #maintenance and #repair.
